Class 1 Vehicle Hire — Fleet & Long-Term Booking Management

Class 1 Vehicle Hire's business isn't day hires, it's long-term B2B: companies with fleets of delivery drivers taking vans on six-month to year-long contracts, at a fleet size of around 350 vehicles. The system tracks each booking's recurring frequency and payment/deposit status, alongside a fleet-wide calendar and a cashflow dashboard that projects upcoming direct-debit and insurance-debit dates against a running total, so nothing lands as a surprise at month end.

Driver compliance runs through the system too: a DVLA licence-check workflow sends the hirer the share-code request, tells them exactly where to get their code from (gov.uk/view-driving-licence), and tracks separately whether the request went out and whether the licence actually came back — alongside front-and-back licence photo capture. Insurance is tracked at two levels: per vehicle (whether Class 1 or the hiring company insures it, and the billing cycle), and per booking (its own insurance rate) — with fleet-side insurance premiums and debit days recorded against each vehicle's own finance record. Every vehicle carries its full lifecycle in the system too, from fleet number and MOT date through to eventual sale, with reporting across direct-debit dates, asset valuation, and income and expense by vehicle. Built and running since 2021, extended as the fleet's grown.
